The May Eve Faeries

Faery blessings on a wonderful May Eve, I do hope you are having a joyous occasion with lots of celebration. I would like to introduce you to Beltane and how the land of the fae celebrate.

Beltane celebrates the coming of summer which is nearly upon us! And spring is starting to make way for summer's first bloom, it is a time when we rejoice in the union of the sacred marriage of the God/King & Goddess/Queen. A wonderful time for fertility, growth & change. Just like the seeds that were planted and are still being planted they are growing and you notice little changes going on. My oak trees went from having the tiniest little buds to sprouting baby leaves and now they are growing bigger and are looking beautiful. If we look around us and take note of mother earth and all that comes from within her you will be surprised at what we see and how fast it all happens. So I hear you ask how does the land of the fae fit in, well in quite a big way!.

There are 3 main festivals when the faery realm and our world are almost one, when we can sense them even closer than at other times of the year, these festivals are May Eve, Mid~summer & All Hallow's Eve (Samhain). The ancient celt countries new day began at sunset so ideally we should start May Eve on April 30th 6pm ~ May 1st 6pm but don't worry as you can celebrate at whatever time you wish just be aware that at these times both world's are at their strongest together.

There are a few ways we can celebrate, ribbons are tied to trees for protection for the coming year and the Fae love coloured ribbons, don't be surprised if your ribbon disappears it will be a faery! But rest assured your protection will still be granted. I would be inclined to add a lovely blessing to the ribbon as you tie it to the tree, this way your energies will be carried with the faery who took it so make sure they are all nice words spoken! Any colour ribbon is fine but you might want to choose a particular colour to go with your needs/hopes etc such as yellow for happiness, green for healing. Thank the tree nymph for allowing you to use their branch.

Hold a May Eve Ball and have a may pole, this is always popular and lots of fun. The may pole has many differing origins so I have included a link to wiki for you to read at the end of this blog. You can also crown a King & Queen and adorn their heads with handmade crowns from what you can find in nature preferably anything that is already laying on the ground, Hawthorn was a very popular piece to add.

Decorating your faery altar or tables for outdoor parties is important as well, colourful cloths such as yellow/orange/gold/white can be used, make a mini crown for the king & queen, flowers, a mini maypole complete with ribbons, rose quartz for fertility, coloured candles, anything that represents Beltane for you. You can make items such as goddess dolls, pebbles painted with flowers on them, a besom with ribbons & flowers etc, with your imagination you can create a beautiful scene.

Ancestors would light a fire and leap across it giving promises to keep during the year while farmers made a divide of two fires and would walk their cattle through and off into pasture to keep them safe. Please be careful if you intend to jump a fire, make sure it is very small and that you will not fall or any part of you will catch fire, perhaps a lit candle is best!

You may be lucky enough to hear bells coming your way and this will be a faery parade with the Queen at the helm, it is rumoured that if you look at the queen you will immediately fall under her spell so avert your eyes and just listen.

More importantly it is a time to celebrate with those special to you, time to reflect on what has gone and what is to come, give thanks to your king & queen and for what we receive from mother earth. Make your celebration one to remember with good food, drink (non alcoholic!), good company, fun, laughter & love.

Faery blessings for a wonderful evening.

To Dream Or Not To Dream That Is The Question

Faery Blessings my lovely faeries & Elementals, I do hope I find you well and happy at this moment in time.  A question was put to me today and I thought I would share it with you.  I was asked how safe is it to visit the Realm of the Fae and when is the best time to do so, a good question!.

To visit the Realm of the Fae and other Elementals is  magical and wonderful, a special time for us so I feel the best times to be transported there are through our dreams and meditation, a time when our body and minds are rested and we are in that "dreamlike" world.  I will give you some guidance on how to achieve safe visits but be aware that you won't always be able to have access to Faeland, it can be hit and miss, they do like their privacy alot and where they will welcome you they will also be glad when you leave! they don't mean it nasty but there's only so much awe, chatter & questions they can take and they do have work to do!.

Before flying off anywhere it is in your best interest to read up on grounding & protection.  You may think well why do I need this when asleep or when half asleep with the meditation but at these times we can be at our most vunerable.  Grounding makes us steady on our feet, it gives us a anchor with which to clasp to so that we stay firmly grounded to mother earth, if we don't do this then we can experience dizziness, a feeling of floating and not being in control and we can be taken to places we don't wish to visit.  So.....imagine a beautiful white light that starts at your head and works it's way down your body covering every inch, then the light moves out of your feet and penetrates mother earth, the light goes deeper and deeper until it finds a rock of incredible strength and the light wraps itself around the rock and then heads back up to your feet, you are now grounded.

For protection you can call upon whomever you like such as Archangel Michael, Queen Mab, your spirit guides etc, ask them for the protection and imagine them stood before you with their arms outstretched towards you, from their arms a blue light reaches out to you and surrounds you completely.  Of course there are many other ways to ground and protect, find a way that works for you.

Before going to sleep or meditation you need to ask for the Faerie of Dreams (this will work for the meditation as well) to come to you when the moment is right and that you want to visit the Realm of the Fae.   Don't feel cheated if you cannot remember a thing in the morning, it happens a lot, bit like when you go out on a saturday night! within your subconscious all the details are there and eventually you will have little triggers go off and you will get the feeling that you have felt, heard, seen Faeland.  Keep a journal to record anything that comes to you.  Always important to thank the Fae the following morning by leaving them some milk, honey or cake!

We work with the Fae and Elementals on a daily basis in our world as we all walk the same mother earth at the same time.  They have work to do just like us, we may be in the woods looking for wood, sowing seeds in our garden, swimming in the sea, we cannot ignore them for everywhere you look you will see, feel, hear them.  At these times we do not visit Faeland but instead they come to us here upon our mother earth where we embrace, love, learn and work together.

I do hope this helps to guide you in the right direction.

Blessings

Earth Day

Yesterday was Earth Day, it reminds us to put our focus on mother earth.  A lot of us care for mother earth but sometimes it is nice to sit back and to reflect upon what we are doing to help and what more we can do.  It is important we look after her, not only for ourselves but for future generations to come.  There are many ways in which we can do our bit, recycling bottle, clothes, paper etc, making sure our environment is clean and safe, our seas, lakes are not polluted, animals are cared for and kept safe, planting more into the earth such as flowers, trees and our own veg, teaching our children to be Eco.

The Faeries and Elementals are nature beings, they are here to work in harmony with our mother earth and they are doing a great job but need us to help out.  By planting flowers, herbs you are connecting to the fae, by respecting the earth you are showing your love and dedication not only to fellow people but to the fae as well.  Let us all do our little bit, we can make one change and that will go a long way to ensuring the well being of our world.  Once we take one step we will begin to take more, you will enjoy it I promise you.

Clothes are a great way of recycling, alter a outfit, add sparkle to it or swop with a friend for something she/he is fed up of.  Broken jewellery can be fixed and made into another piece.

Tyres are great for growing herbs in as are old wellies.  If you have a old tin watering can try painting it with bright colours and use for plants.  A worn looking bench in the garden can also be painted, new planks of wood can be added and the old can if rotten be burned in a chimnea.  Lollypop sticks once cleaned can be used as herb markers.

There are loads of items that with a little thought can be recycled and it's fun.  So lets join together and make a difference for each day of our lives. x

The Garden Gnomes

This evening was one not to be missed by being outside.  The sun confident in the sky shining down on mother earth and helping the garden to grow.  So my border was half finished and aching to be completed not the only thing to be aching! boy do my back and other muscles ache but it was worth it for the near end result.  I have a beautiful array of shrubs & flowers planted all with the help of the Earth Elementals known as the Gnomes.  They like to take a nose and see what it is you are doing when your armed with a trowel, shovel, and rightly so as this is their territory and they need to make sure you are treating it with love & respect.  So while your working away you get the feeling that you are being watched and you know it's not a neighbour!, you turn towards where you think there is someone but there is no one and you carry on.  After a while you quite enjoy the company even though you can't physically see anyone you can feel that presence and it feels comforting.

The Earth Elementals have tuned into your energies and can sense you are proud of what you have achieved so far, unbeknown to you they have been willing you to carry on in the garden with your project, they have been wandering around you closer than you can imagine to get a closer look and they are pleased.  Connecting to our Gnomes is quite easy, being out in the woods, garden will bring you closer to them which is great because you can then learn how to work with them.  As evening approaches the Air Elementals, the Sylphs are changing shift work and with them they bring gnats! so it's time to call it a night and relax with a glass of well earned wine, I'm all for sharing so the Gnomes are left a offering of milk, not the same as wine I know but honestly....have you seen a tipsy Gnome!
