That F Word is none other than Failure. Now, I have never liked this word especially when there are children around. Children pick up on some words more than others, they take the words in and digest them, placing them within their memory bank where it will rise up during the following years. When you tell a child they will fail and it could be aimed at anything that attracts an interest then this negative word clings onto their soul and penetrates it so deep it takes a lot of positive words to smother what should not be within a child'd mind.
And as we grow we may become excited at the new experiences that are about to come our way but when we move forward to partake what can happen......this word failure pops up from the depths of our mind and starts to play tricks on us, making us suddenly think we are not capable that we should not be making a fool out of ourselves, we then take a step back either not proceeding at all or giving half of our efforts.
I know we cannot make the world a place of cotton and candy floss and that as children we have to learn to be independant, to acknowledge the world and how hard it can be to live within that world but we also need to encourage someone to give opportunity a chance where they can be a part of the venture and learn what is needed to do a good job, to work alongside others, to care about not only themselves but those around them and to put love, laughter, fun, focus into what they do. Let's teach about how to find our strength's and how we can work with what does not come so naturally to some of us after all it is about the energies we have living within us, they can be showered in love and nurtured so we do the best we can or are those energies to be put down, neglected and starved of fresh air.
By being encouraged to take part in many things in life we can determine whether we were meant to follow that path, for instance I like to draw........matchstick people because that is all I have within me to give but that doesn't mean I should never pick up a pencil and it certainly doesn't mean I am a failure at it, I know where my strength's lay because I was encouraged to explore art as a child. We need to find a balance and we won't find it among that word failure, for a lot of us we will try many new things that come our way but we tend to know what works well and what doesn't work so well for us. Learn, explore, try, ask for help but never think your a failure because you are not.

Acceptance (The Pagan Blog Project)
Acceptance
I have joined a lovely project called "The Pagan Blog Project" where each Friday we write about anything connected to the spiritual realms, wicca, pagan etc. I love to write so decided that I needed a challenge for every friday where I can explore idea's and ponderings and write about them. Some of my blogs may be short and others lengthy I guess it will depend on how my mood flows but I welcome you all to join me along my path.
This week's topic for me is acceptance, the word can look and sound scary for some of us as it brings about inner emotions that we may have tried to hide that belong to our past or we may be going through some difficulties in the here and now. I guess we all want to be accepted just for being us, no strings attached but when we come across a mountain that allows us limited or no access at all we can start to retreat backwards even if only a few steps. We might even feel like it is our fault, that we are not good enough, don't have the required knowledge to be a part of a certain group when in reality none of that holds any truth for we all have the ability to learn, that's what makes us special.
I feel that the key element is that we learn to accept ourselves before we do anything else in life, hard on times yes but if we take the time to get to know more about what makes us tick, our likes, dislikes etc then we become tuned in to our inner soul. By doing this it will help us to grow in confidence, to see that it is ok not to be the same as another person after all we are each of us unique in our own way and this is what you will bring to any friendship or group. We want to be able to shine within our own love and acceptance, to be able to stand up in front of people and share what we have without having to hide from our truths.
When we don't hold the key to our own doorway that will lead us to our place of happiness we shrink, apologize way to often for anything and everything and usually are too sensitive, instead we should hold the key and open that door letting our heart guide us forward. By doing this we will become stronger within our being, we will stand up and be counted while feeling at ease with our self, for when we know and understand who we are then so shall others around us, they will come to us guided by the light that shines so brightly around us. When you accept who you are you will notice how differently the world see's you and how you will be drawn to opening up to more knowledge. By accepting who you are it can make it easier to feel as if you are contributing to life, to someone, whether that be love for others, helping those who need guidance, sharing written words or simply just giving a hug to that one person who really needs to know everything will be alright. It isn't always a easy path but then if life was easy we wouldn't learn very well and would be stuck if a certain issue did crop up, take each day as it comes and learn to love, to laugh and to respect who you are.
I accept who I am and I accept you as a friend. I accept that I can change my life and do not accept that I have to take what is left. I accept that daily life brings a variety of up's and down's but I accept my ability to embrace them and work through them. I accept what is positive and work with it and I accept negativity exists but refuse for it to be a part of my life.
Acceptance of you because you are so worth the beautiful soul you are.

The Snow Queen Faery
I always associate the Snow Queen faery with Yule because this is the time of year that they seem to connect to us and Mother Earth the most strongest. Of course, the Snow Queen can always be found wherever a snowflake falls but her energies can definitely be felt around the time of Yule. Yule is also known as the Winter Solstice or Midwinter, a time within the year when it is the shortest day and to be followed by a very cold, harsh winter, the Snow Queen just loves this weather and is always at her happiest when the frost is upon the ground, when lakes and other waters are frozen over and the skies are like a white duvet. She is concerned though that wildlife cannot take their fill from Mother Earth so at these times she encourages us to look after them and to feed them.
The Snow Queen resides over her Kingdom all year round and Winter time she makes her journey on a daily basis into our realm, this way she can keep a eye on her faeries and other elementals who carry out her work for her. Her kingdom is very beautiful and you've guessed it, yes there is snow! Infact there is rather a lot of snow, every inch of land is white but the tree's, flowers, plants all survive well, the animals are well care for too. The sea's never freeze over but the ponds do which is where they can all relax and have some fun, they do like to iceskate. Her castle really is made from ice as are all the buildings, feeling a bit cold? Not to worry as no one here will feel too cold, they have learnt how to harness warmth on the inside.
The Snow Queen is so very beautiful to look at with her long flowing dark hair, blue eyes that sparkle and can hold you captive, fair skin so soft and a beautiful smile. She has many outfits but the one which I usually glimpse her in is one of pure silver that has embossed snowflakes adorning it, it isn't silver as we know it but a very light almost silky look to it, around the edges there are pearls, light blue and white and a little fur which is collected from the ground once it has fallen from the owner, there are some lovely colours in there too. Her cape is silk and the most beautiful light blue/grey and is plain. Her crown is again silver with real snowflakes, silver glitter that glistens and some gems such as Quartz, Moonstone and her wand is very similar with the crystals embedded into the Elven star. You should have a picture of her in your mind now but don't worry if it is different from mine because we will all see her as we are meant to. She has a carriage drawn by 7 majestic white horses who are able to glide along the ground as well as fly effortlessly, sometimes when she has been on one of her journies through the sky you can just make out sparks in the sky, like a fire work going off but without the noise!. You might be lucky in seeing this magikal sight as it isn't often she lets herself be seen by humans so think yourself lucky.
The Snow Queen also works alongside Jack Frost in ensuring the ground is frozen and that certain bugs are sent off to sleep in order for the soil to be safe when we come to sow our harvest. The Snow Queen and her workers also prepare the Earth and care for the seeds that are already below the ground waiting for the Ostara faeries to wake them up. She also has to make sure the winter evergreens thrive and that the order in which nature works is taking place. She does have a tough job desinated to her and she does it with love and with pride. You can call upon her for strength, imagination, tapping into your inner child, to find inner peace etc and I will set out below some ways of calling upon her and how to work with her.
Set up your Faery altar using a white or silver cloth, you can sew some sparkly sequins on for extra glisten, next you want some white/silver/light blue candles, snowflake decorations, Quartz or any gems you feel drawn too, perhaps you might want to make a little wand, some Ivy and Holly. It is entirely up to you what you use to decorate your altar with, ask the Yule faeries out loud to show you some items to place there if you like. Once you have set your altar up and you are happy with it you now want to call the Queen forth. Here is a affirmation you can use or try writing your own if you feel you want to.
“I call upon the Snow Queen faery to grace my life,
I ask that you reveal yourself to me this night,
I wish to draw you close & hope that we can join together,
I ask that you sprinkle my life with Snowflakes,
I wish for the magick within them to shower me in strength &
to give me the courage to change what needs to be changed,
may I connect once again with the child that lives within my heart,
to see the beauty in the magick that surrounds my life,
help me to embrace all that I am capable of and guide me forward”
Take a few moments afterwards to feel the energies around you, blow out the candles and leave your altar for a few days. Leave a offering outside for her such as milk, cake or honey. I also like to burn some Yule incense over the following days, the lovely smell seems to make the connection between us stronger, you could throw some dried orange peel on a open fire too as these smell rather nice. Decorate your home with some Holly & Ivy and invite the Yule faeries and their major Queen into your home.

Selenite Faeries
Faery Queen Selene (also greek goddess of the moon) has the Selenite crystal named after her due to it's moon like glow.
The Selenite faeries will help you to unblock any stale energies that lie within or around you and they will help to blow away any darkness you sense in your surroundings. You may like to use this lovely crystal to remember your dreams and the lives you have lived previously. These faeries are very big on commitment and it is important to them that we show it in whatever we do. I also like to use this crystal to aid me in my communications with angels, spirit guides and also the fae themselves.
Always best to call upon these fae during the full moon. Place a white candle upon your altar and set your Selenite near. Place a faery ornament and some white flowers (Mine are craft flowers) to your table. The flowers represent inner beauty, love, hope, rebirth........I have also used a Oracle card with the moon to add extra connection. The card is from the pack Earth Magic by Steve D Farmer.
Light your candle and as you do call out to the Selenite faeries, ask them to draw close. I want you to speak from the heart, let your words flow. You can write down your affirmation/spell before just incase you forget or get your words in a tangle. You might want a stronger communication with the fae or perhaps you are needing more commitment from your workplace, whatever it is you want ask the fae to assist you.
Selenite doesn't do to well with water so please be careful, I personally wouldn't soak it in water but instead I wipe mine with a wet cloth and then dry.

Circle Of Stones (A Grounding Exercise)
Circle Of Stones
You are sat upon the green grass of Mother Earth, all around you in a circle stand tall stones. You close your eyes and relax your hands palm upwards upon your knees. You draw upon the energies that live within the stones. The wisdom, love and protection that oozes from these stones now enter you, you feel them at the top of your head. The wisdom swirls within your mind before they move slowly downwards where the love takes hold of your beating heart. Draw these energies down through your stomach, thighs, ankles and out through your feet where they pass deep into the warm earth, keep the energies moving until they find a strong anchor in which to wrap themselves around. Now pull these energies back up to you, feel them shoot through the grass, the wisdom and love re~enter your body while the protection wraps itself around the outside of your very being. You are now grounded.

Yule Blessings With The Faeries
Yule is almost upon us and you can see as well as feel the changes the Yule faeries have brought. You only need to step outside to witness Mother Earth shrinking right back to her bare core, tree's are bare and the earth looks asleep. The cold tends to linger for longer in the air, griping our very bones and making us feel the chill, but there is still some colour within a few plants and upon some tree's. The Holly which is a tree known for it's protection to the home will have a splash of red from the berries, if you should bring some Holly into your home it will offer shelter to faeries and they will in return look out for you and your home. Holly is a sacred tree and can be found upon many altars at the Winter Solstice, it encourages the Sun God to be reborn and has a male energy. The Ivy holds a female energy and is used for protection, fertility as well as faithfulness and will partner the Holly. It's important to have a balance in life and both these are used upon a Yule Altar.
So let's celebrate the return journey of the Sun God in all his power by celebrating what we can bring into our life. Out with the old and the stale energies that make us feel as if we are living in a world with the light turned off instead we want to embrace the new and fresh idea's, fun, laughter, a new way forward. We want to make every day feel full of abundance and to be glad we are a part Mother Nature and we can do this by setting up our own Yule altar indoors or outside. The Yule faeries will work alongside many kings, queens such as the Sun god or king and at this time they will be very excited in helping him to come back to his full glow.
For you altar choose a cloth of green, red or gold, place upon it some Holly and Ivy along with candles in the same colours as previously mentioned. Decorations that represent the Sun, fertility are a must have along with crystals, faery ornaments and anything you feel best represents your Yule Altar. As you set it up think about why you are doing it, what does it mean to you and you can also say a affirmation for what you want in the coming year. Make it a special ceremony and one you will remember. Take photos, invite friends and family and have a party, write down the evening's events in your Book of Shadows etc.
For me I will be saying a blessing, thanking the God/Faery King & the Goddess/Faery Queen for bestowing upon us such riches, we are blessed to have a beautiful world and all that lives within. I want to thank them also for enriching my life with those special people who make every day worth getting out of bed for and for the hugs & kisses my family give freely to me, I truly am such a lucky lady. The next part of my journey is going to be colourful and exciting because I choose it to be and I hope to see you all there at some point upon my path even if only to say Hello.

Faery Magick (online article)

Faery Magick
As you become more familiar with the faeries you will feel more comfortable and confident in calling upon them to work with you when you perform your faery magick. Firstly, faery magick is something that is worked with love and always for the good, it is about enhancing the communication and connection between you and the fae. They will help guide us best they can. I know what some of you are thinking and it is always best to leave Faery Queen Caelia deal with matters of love for if she can see who is meant to be together for however the length of time then she will create a situation upon where you both will meet and the path that follows, she will never interfere so no matter how much you ask her if it is not meant to be then there is nothing she can do, freewill is important. We can ask for healing to be sent to someone but if they do not wish to receive it or are not open to receiving it then it will stay around them until a time perhaps when it may be needed, I do believe though that the healing or protection sent surrounds that person like a bubble but in a very gentle and non obtrusive way and will do it's best.
So now that we have that little thing of love out the way let us start at the beginning. Sometimes it is practical to just call out to the fae to come forth and help with whatever matter has just presented itself to you, we don't always have enough notice of trouble, inconvenience or other ocurrences ahead but that's ok all you need to do is just ask. But there may be times when we can plan ahead and make it a bit more special so preparing yourself and the area in which you will be using is important. Taking a nice soak in the bath with your favourite bubble bath with candles lit will help you to destress and cleanse your mind because connecting to the fae requires focus. You might like to add a few drops of essential oil or some herbs to the bath water but please be careful with both and check if you can use them, watch your step in the bath too!
Next take some time to cleanse the area you are planning on working in, open the windows in the room to let out the stagnant energies and the fresh Air in, take a smudge stick around the room and as you do so ask the fae to protect and ground you and bless your space. Think about the type of music you may want to play, does it reflect your mood or will it just annoy or distract you. So now you need to think about your faery altar and it doesn't need to be somewhere permanent or a large surface just somewhere with enough space for you to place a couple of items so you could work from your kitchen worktop or on top of your bedroom chest of draws.
For my altar surface I like to place a piece of cloth, the colour will reflect my wish so if I want to work with healing I would have a piece of green cloth, for protection I would have a blue piece and so forth. Next you will need a compass to find where the 4 elements are, in the North which is Earth place some fresh soil, I would have a small saucer to put it on so as not to mess the cloth. East is Air so place a feather there, South is Fire so place a candle in a holder, this candle will also represent your request and you can use coloured candles but a white one will represent anything so it is always handy to keep a supply. Last is West and the Water element, place a small bowl of water at this point. Ask Faery Queen Mab to also at this time bless your altar and to keep it and you protected. The other items we use will depend upon what magick we will be performing. Don't forget to light your candle, it does happen!.
You can write down your words that you want to use because like me I sometimes forget what I want to say! And then you will find yourself stalling and it may put you off. You can write your affirmation with regards to what you want as a poem or just a few words. Below I have a few faery magick affirmations to share with you.
Lavendar Faeries
To work with the Lavendar faeries, take a purple/lilac candle, add a sprig of lavendar to the one side and a amethyst to the other side. A Lavendar faery helps to unblock your mind, are very protective of you, they will help attune you into your psychic powers & encourage deep sleep. The amethyst also enhances all of these. Start your affirmation with "I call upon thee, Lavendar faeries ........and then continue with the words you have written down.
Buttercup Faeries
To work with the Buttercup faeries light a yellow candle, place a Buttercup by the side and use a Ametrine crystal. Call upon these faeries when you are feel you have low self esteem and need lots of positive energies. Also they will help to enhance the throat chakra which is the base of our spiritual communications. Ametrine crystals are used to balance & cleanse your aura, banishing negativity and letting the positive flow. It enhances the light & life throughout your body making you feel worthy of yourself. Great for helping your communication links with spirit as well.
When you have finished your affirmation just take a few moments to gather your thoughts and to then thank the fae for connecting, you can leave them a offering outside of some cake or milk. Blow out your candle before leaving the room but you can if you want leave the altar for a short while before clearing away.
I always like to encourage people to put together their own way of using faery magick, find a path that you feel is the one for you, use tools and words that flow. You can use whatever colour or gem you want or set your altar up differently, don't worry if you cannot find the flower you need upon the ground or you do not wish to pick one (always ask permission from the fae before picking anything). These are just the basics that can be changed to suit you. Most importantly in all of this is the intent of your wish, you need to be specific and to the point but also enjoy this special time because you are connecting to the power of the faeries and they to you.
I call upon them everyday and for lots of different things especially the car parking faery but for moments where we need just a little extra something by creating the above atmosphere the fae will realize just how important what you are asking of them is and they will do their best to guide or help but you have to remember the part you have to play in your life and the way in which you move forward, it's no good asking the fae to help you gain promotion but yet you do nothing to prepare for the interview or you don't put in the time and effort. We still are responsible for our life and you have to put in to get out, the fae cannot do it all!.

Faery Magick
As you become more familiar with the faeries you will feel more comfortable and confident in calling upon them to work with you when you perform your faery magick. Firstly, faery magick is something that is worked with love and always for the good, it is about enhancing the communication and connection between you and the fae. They will help guide us best they can. I know what some of you are thinking and it is always best to leave Faery Queen Caelia deal with matters of love for if she can see who is meant to be together for however the length of time then she will create a situation upon where you both will meet and the path that follows, she will never interfere so no matter how much you ask her if it is not meant to be then there is nothing she can do, freewill is important. We can ask for healing to be sent to someone but if they do not wish to receive it or are not open to receiving it then it will stay around them until a time perhaps when it may be needed, I do believe though that the healing or protection sent surrounds that person like a bubble but in a very gentle and non obtrusive way and will do it's best.
So now that we have that little thing of love out the way let us start at the beginning. Sometimes it is practical to just call out to the fae to come forth and help with whatever matter has just presented itself to you, we don't always have enough notice of trouble, inconvenience or other ocurrences ahead but that's ok all you need to do is just ask. But there may be times when we can plan ahead and make it a bit more special so preparing yourself and the area in which you will be using is important. Taking a nice soak in the bath with your favourite bubble bath with candles lit will help you to destress and cleanse your mind because connecting to the fae requires focus. You might like to add a few drops of essential oil or some herbs to the bath water but please be careful with both and check if you can use them, watch your step in the bath too!
Next take some time to cleanse the area you are planning on working in, open the windows in the room to let out the stagnant energies and the fresh Air in, take a smudge stick around the room and as you do so ask the fae to protect and ground you and bless your space. Think about the type of music you may want to play, does it reflect your mood or will it just annoy or distract you. So now you need to think about your faery altar and it doesn't need to be somewhere permanent or a large surface just somewhere with enough space for you to place a couple of items so you could work from your kitchen worktop or on top of your bedroom chest of draws.
For my altar surface I like to place a piece of cloth, the colour will reflect my wish so if I want to work with healing I would have a piece of green cloth, for protection I would have a blue piece and so forth. Next you will need a compass to find where the 4 elements are, in the North which is Earth place some fresh soil, I would have a small saucer to put it on so as not to mess the cloth. East is Air so place a feather there, South is Fire so place a candle in a holder, this candle will also represent your request and you can use coloured candles but a white one will represent anything so it is always handy to keep a supply. Last is West and the Water element, place a small bowl of water at this point. Ask Faery Queen Mab to also at this time bless your altar and to keep it and you protected. The other items we use will depend upon what magick we will be performing. Don't forget to light your candle, it does happen!.
You can write down your words that you want to use because like me I sometimes forget what I want to say! And then you will find yourself stalling and it may put you off. You can write your affirmation with regards to what you want as a poem or just a few words. Below I have a few faery magick affirmations to share with you.
Lavendar Faeries
To work with the Lavendar faeries, take a purple/lilac candle, add a sprig of lavendar to the one side and a amethyst to the other side. A Lavendar faery helps to unblock your mind, are very protective of you, they will help attune you into your psychic powers & encourage deep sleep. The amethyst also enhances all of these. Start your affirmation with "I call upon thee, Lavendar faeries ........and then continue with the words you have written down.
Buttercup Faeries
To work with the Buttercup faeries light a yellow candle, place a Buttercup by the side and use a Ametrine crystal. Call upon these faeries when you are feel you have low self esteem and need lots of positive energies. Also they will help to enhance the throat chakra which is the base of our spiritual communications. Ametrine crystals are used to balance & cleanse your aura, banishing negativity and letting the positive flow. It enhances the light & life throughout your body making you feel worthy of yourself. Great for helping your communication links with spirit as well.
When you have finished your affirmation just take a few moments to gather your thoughts and to then thank the fae for connecting, you can leave them a offering outside of some cake or milk. Blow out your candle before leaving the room but you can if you want leave the altar for a short while before clearing away.
I always like to encourage people to put together their own way of using faery magick, find a path that you feel is the one for you, use tools and words that flow. You can use whatever colour or gem you want or set your altar up differently, don't worry if you cannot find the flower you need upon the ground or you do not wish to pick one (always ask permission from the fae before picking anything). These are just the basics that can be changed to suit you. Most importantly in all of this is the intent of your wish, you need to be specific and to the point but also enjoy this special time because you are connecting to the power of the faeries and they to you.

Warming Spell
A great spell to use on days when Jack Frost is about.
4 red candles
Red crystals such as Carnelian, Jasper....
Place the 4 candles in a Arc shape & light. Next take the crystal/s and place into the centre of your Arc.
"I call upon the Salamanders who breathe warmth into this world,
I ask that you fill my soul with passion,
Let it live within my veins and give me enough warmth so that the cold is kept away,
I want to feel the heat glow from within me and outwards,
Let it touch the souls of all those around me,
May we all be the flame that burns bright."
You can of course use Essential oils that make you feel warm & cosy as well as laying down a red cloth or anything that would represent the Fire Elementals.
