Yule is almost upon us and you can see as well as feel the changes the Yule faeries have brought. You only need to step outside to witness Mother Earth shrinking right back to her bare core, tree's are bare and the earth looks asleep. The cold tends to linger for longer in the air, griping our very bones and making us feel the chill, but there is still some colour within a few plants and upon some tree's. The Holly which is a tree known for it's protection to the home will have a splash of red from the berries, if you should bring some Holly into your home it will offer shelter to faeries and they will in return look out for you and your home. Holly is a sacred tree and can be found upon many altars at the Winter Solstice, it encourages the Sun God to be reborn and has a male energy. The Ivy holds a female energy and is used for protection, fertility as well as faithfulness and will partner the Holly. It's important to have a balance in life and both these are used upon a Yule Altar.
So let's celebrate the return journey of the Sun God in all his power by celebrating what we can bring into our life. Out with the old and the stale energies that make us feel as if we are living in a world with the light turned off instead we want to embrace the new and fresh idea's, fun, laughter, a new way forward. We want to make every day feel full of abundance and to be glad we are a part Mother Nature and we can do this by setting up our own Yule altar indoors or outside. The Yule faeries will work alongside many kings, queens such as the Sun god or king and at this time they will be very excited in helping him to come back to his full glow.
For you altar choose a cloth of green, red or gold, place upon it some Holly and Ivy along with candles in the same colours as previously mentioned. Decorations that represent the Sun, fertility are a must have along with crystals, faery ornaments and anything you feel best represents your Yule Altar. As you set it up think about why you are doing it, what does it mean to you and you can also say a affirmation for what you want in the coming year. Make it a special ceremony and one you will remember. Take photos, invite friends and family and have a party, write down the evening's events in your Book of Shadows etc.
For me I will be saying a blessing, thanking the God/Faery King & the Goddess/Faery Queen for bestowing upon us such riches, we are blessed to have a beautiful world and all that lives within. I want to thank them also for enriching my life with those special people who make every day worth getting out of bed for and for the hugs & kisses my family give freely to me, I truly am such a lucky lady. The next part of my journey is going to be colourful and exciting because I choose it to be and I hope to see you all there at some point upon my path even if only to say Hello.

Faery Magick (online article)

Faery Magick
As you become more familiar with the faeries you will feel more comfortable and confident in calling upon them to work with you when you perform your faery magick. Firstly, faery magick is something that is worked with love and always for the good, it is about enhancing the communication and connection between you and the fae. They will help guide us best they can. I know what some of you are thinking and it is always best to leave Faery Queen Caelia deal with matters of love for if she can see who is meant to be together for however the length of time then she will create a situation upon where you both will meet and the path that follows, she will never interfere so no matter how much you ask her if it is not meant to be then there is nothing she can do, freewill is important. We can ask for healing to be sent to someone but if they do not wish to receive it or are not open to receiving it then it will stay around them until a time perhaps when it may be needed, I do believe though that the healing or protection sent surrounds that person like a bubble but in a very gentle and non obtrusive way and will do it's best.
So now that we have that little thing of love out the way let us start at the beginning. Sometimes it is practical to just call out to the fae to come forth and help with whatever matter has just presented itself to you, we don't always have enough notice of trouble, inconvenience or other ocurrences ahead but that's ok all you need to do is just ask. But there may be times when we can plan ahead and make it a bit more special so preparing yourself and the area in which you will be using is important. Taking a nice soak in the bath with your favourite bubble bath with candles lit will help you to destress and cleanse your mind because connecting to the fae requires focus. You might like to add a few drops of essential oil or some herbs to the bath water but please be careful with both and check if you can use them, watch your step in the bath too!
Next take some time to cleanse the area you are planning on working in, open the windows in the room to let out the stagnant energies and the fresh Air in, take a smudge stick around the room and as you do so ask the fae to protect and ground you and bless your space. Think about the type of music you may want to play, does it reflect your mood or will it just annoy or distract you. So now you need to think about your faery altar and it doesn't need to be somewhere permanent or a large surface just somewhere with enough space for you to place a couple of items so you could work from your kitchen worktop or on top of your bedroom chest of draws.
For my altar surface I like to place a piece of cloth, the colour will reflect my wish so if I want to work with healing I would have a piece of green cloth, for protection I would have a blue piece and so forth. Next you will need a compass to find where the 4 elements are, in the North which is Earth place some fresh soil, I would have a small saucer to put it on so as not to mess the cloth. East is Air so place a feather there, South is Fire so place a candle in a holder, this candle will also represent your request and you can use coloured candles but a white one will represent anything so it is always handy to keep a supply. Last is West and the Water element, place a small bowl of water at this point. Ask Faery Queen Mab to also at this time bless your altar and to keep it and you protected. The other items we use will depend upon what magick we will be performing. Don't forget to light your candle, it does happen!.
You can write down your words that you want to use because like me I sometimes forget what I want to say! And then you will find yourself stalling and it may put you off. You can write your affirmation with regards to what you want as a poem or just a few words. Below I have a few faery magick affirmations to share with you.
Lavendar Faeries
To work with the Lavendar faeries, take a purple/lilac candle, add a sprig of lavendar to the one side and a amethyst to the other side. A Lavendar faery helps to unblock your mind, are very protective of you, they will help attune you into your psychic powers & encourage deep sleep. The amethyst also enhances all of these. Start your affirmation with "I call upon thee, Lavendar faeries ........and then continue with the words you have written down.
Buttercup Faeries
To work with the Buttercup faeries light a yellow candle, place a Buttercup by the side and use a Ametrine crystal. Call upon these faeries when you are feel you have low self esteem and need lots of positive energies. Also they will help to enhance the throat chakra which is the base of our spiritual communications. Ametrine crystals are used to balance & cleanse your aura, banishing negativity and letting the positive flow. It enhances the light & life throughout your body making you feel worthy of yourself. Great for helping your communication links with spirit as well.
When you have finished your affirmation just take a few moments to gather your thoughts and to then thank the fae for connecting, you can leave them a offering outside of some cake or milk. Blow out your candle before leaving the room but you can if you want leave the altar for a short while before clearing away.
I always like to encourage people to put together their own way of using faery magick, find a path that you feel is the one for you, use tools and words that flow. You can use whatever colour or gem you want or set your altar up differently, don't worry if you cannot find the flower you need upon the ground or you do not wish to pick one (always ask permission from the fae before picking anything). These are just the basics that can be changed to suit you. Most importantly in all of this is the intent of your wish, you need to be specific and to the point but also enjoy this special time because you are connecting to the power of the faeries and they to you.
I call upon them everyday and for lots of different things especially the car parking faery but for moments where we need just a little extra something by creating the above atmosphere the fae will realize just how important what you are asking of them is and they will do their best to guide or help but you have to remember the part you have to play in your life and the way in which you move forward, it's no good asking the fae to help you gain promotion but yet you do nothing to prepare for the interview or you don't put in the time and effort. We still are responsible for our life and you have to put in to get out, the fae cannot do it all!.

Warming Spell
A great spell to use on days when Jack Frost is about.
4 red candles
Red crystals such as Carnelian, Jasper....
Place the 4 candles in a Arc shape & light. Next take the crystal/s and place into the centre of your Arc.
"I call upon the Salamanders who breathe warmth into this world,
I ask that you fill my soul with passion,
Let it live within my veins and give me enough warmth so that the cold is kept away,
I want to feel the heat glow from within me and outwards,
Let it touch the souls of all those around me,
May we all be the flame that burns bright."
You can of course use Essential oils that make you feel warm & cosy as well as laying down a red cloth or anything that would represent the Fire Elementals.

Essential Oils Used In Spiritual Work
Essential oils have been around and in use for thousands of years all over the world. From Egyptian hieroglyphics to chinese manuscripts, we learn their priests and physicians used oils in everyday life. They were used in rituals, sickness/illness and embalming etc. Today we also use them for for our emotional well being, there are many different oils to suit most emotions through inhalation.
Using Oils For Spiritual Work
We can use essential oils when carrying out our spiritual work, these oils will help enhance our emotions and connections with spirit. Below are a few basic oils and their properties to get you started.
Bergamot, Cedarwood & Ylang Ylang~ These 3 oils will help you to concentrate and to put focus on the task at hand which is great for a busy mind. They will help those of us who lack confidence whether in our work, meeting new people etc.
Frankincense~Use this oil if you want to cleanse the area you are working in, also used to link in with spirit, it helps to open the connection as well as giving us protection. Brilliant for getting those creative juices flowing!.
Lavender~If you want to bring about a calm and inner peace then this is a great oil to use. Perfect for use in class when there are lots of energies.
How To Use Via Inhalation
Essential oils can be used in many ways, here i will explain about some of their most popular uses. Let the aromas fill the room you are using and as you breathe them in you will feel them working on your emotions.
Oil Burners~Place some water in the bowl compartment and add 1-9 drops of your chosen oil. The heat from the candle warms up the water and oil to release the aroma.
Room Spray~ Perfect if like me you cant use the air fresheners. Fill a new plant spray bottle with warm water and add your oil, 4-6 drops of oil to 280ml of water. Shake before each use. I use this as a air freshener, carpets, curtains, even smelly shoes. Avoid wood and always do a test patch first.
Radiator~ I place a couple of drops of oil on a cotton wool ball and place on my radiator so the heat warms up the oil.
Humidifier~Simply add 1-9 drops of oil to the water.
How to keep your oils safe
How you store your oils is very important, you must make sure the bottle caps are closed correctly and store away from sunlight and heat. Also keep away from children and pets and be responsible when using oil burners.
It is important to consult your doctor or qualified aromatherapist before using oils on yourself, pregnant and breast feeding woman must be careful as well as those who suffer high blood pressure and other medical conditions.

Preparing For Magick
Preparing For Magick
Preparation is just as important as the actual performing of the magick, infact I would say it is a smudge more important. We need to be focused upon what we are about to do so here are a few tips on what you can do to make sure there is a balance of emotions.
1. You need to be in the correct frame of mind before performing any kind of Magick and one of the best ways to do this is to set the mood, run a warm bath and add a few drops of either Rosemary or Lavender essential oil for cleansing. We need to get rid of any negative energies that may be clinging to our skin from the day's events, the vapour from the oil will also swirl up from the water and will infuse within our mind cleansing all thoughts.
These will also help you to focus and relax while in the bath, light some candles white for protection and purple for power, you will be drawing power/strength from within when performing Magick. You can place around the bathroom some crystals, choose ones such as Clear Quartz or Tigers eye or whatever you feel drawn to. (very important~please check to see if you can use these oils via a doctor as you cannot use them during pregnancy, high blood pressure etc and never ever swallow any oil).
2. Think about what items of clothing you may want to wear, a cloak may make it all feel that extra bit special or you may have one outfit that you keep just for this. Don't forget that you are preparing to connect to mother earth, nature, a god, goddess so you want to feel positive and dressed for the part.
3. Use a singing bowl to cleanse the room you are using or a smudge stick. I do not do to well with the smudge as I have asthma and it affects it slightly so be aware if you have others in the room. Prepare a affirmation asking for protection and cleansing of the room as well as your Besom.
4. Play some music that is appropriate for your work, there are so many lovely new age cd's available, the music will soften any external noises and will set the mood to one of calm and seriousness as you will begin to get into the zone so to speak.
5. Place a jug of water and some cups nearby in case of a dry throat, it does happen!.
6. Now you can prepare to set up your altar and work your Magick.
Of course this is just a guide, how you prepare is up to you. Making your Magick an occasion will be showing not only yourself but those you connect to that you are serious, that your heart works in love, light and above all "harm ye none", we are not here to work anything other than good. So enjoy your Magick and all that comes before it.

Faery Magick
I have been working alongside the fae for some years now and at first I was not aware of who this guiding light was until a faery revealed to me that it was the fae I was connecting to. I have been involved with faery magick for a little while and it has brought me so much joy that I want to share some of my work with you.
Faery Magick is about enhancing the communication between you & your chosen faery. You should have the right atmosphere & be in the correct frame of mind when making an affirmation. Lighting a candle always sets the mood, choosing a crystal that has properties you are asking your specific faery for will help to strengthen your affirmation. To ask for something is important to & the way in which we ask, be specific.

Angel Magick
Angel magick works in a similar way to my faery magick in that we are connecting to certain Archangels for guidance. You can of course connect to any angel you feel drawn to but here I will show you how I call upon some of the archangels for assistance. By using this type of communication we are taking time and making preparations on a deeper level because we can of course at any time, place and without any tools call upon the angels and they will come to us.
Angel Magic is about enhancing the communication on a deeper level between you & your chosen angel. You should have the right atmosphere & be in the correct frame of mind when making an affirmation. Earth's Little Guardian's
A Introduction
I am going to introduce you to some magikal little beings of nature that have been around since time first began. You will find them upon the pages of many books, TV and most importantly within the lives of many children. We all remember stories from our childhood of the faeries at the bottom of our garden and the one which is still very popular with the little ones today, the tooth faery although not so popular among adults as we like to keep our teeth no matter how much the going rate is! My own adventures with the fae started very young, the colourful orbs I would see everywhere and Morgan le Fay a faery queen would often come and pay me a visit, we would talk for hours! She had the most beautiful hair which would hold my attention especially when we would go astral travelling as it would trail behind her, floating magikally. Morgan le Fay lived during Arthurian times and didn't have a very nice aura about her but something changed and she has spent her faery queen years continuing her work as a excellent healer. She still comes to visit me.
Faeries belong to a group known as the Elementals, these elementals are divided into four and represent the elements North~Gnomes, East~Sylphs, South~Salamanders and West~Undines. There are many sub categories but I will discuss these at a later date with you. The faeries are beings of nature, they have love and light within their hearts and spend their life dedicating time, love and a way forward in helping Mother Earth to flourish. They have a very important job to do and they do it well, they should do after all they have been around since time first began so they have had lots of practice. They are also known for their naughty sides as they do like to be playful, just like we have fun so do they. You may be gently poked in the back and upon turning round find no one there or your hair might be tugged with no culprit in sight, all harmless fun but they have a side to them that is one of seriousness, for they are here to help Mother Earth but to avoid being on the end of their fun wear a item of clothing inside out, preferably under garments so to avoid people staring or repeatedly stating you are wearing your dress/trousers inside out!. We have all noticed the changes within our planet over the years and the faeries need us to help them maintain a healthy balance upon our planet, let us think of ourselves as keepers of Earth where we take care of her and pass her over to future generations who will do the same. Many of us work alongside the faeries and may not even be aware we do, through recycling, sowing seeds, nurturing our soil, plants and looking after the wildlife we are in fact connecting to the little people.
Their appearance differs somewhat, they can appear as little orbs flitting about their business quietly and invisible. I often see floating orbs and they can appear day or night time, sometimes it 's as if they are dancing upon the breeze and are very mesmerizing to watch. And sometimes they appear small with pointed ears, wild hair, slightly protruding face, beautiful eyes, very nimble upon their feet but their appearance might be slightly different to your eye than to someone else for they are not out to frighten us so they tend to soften those features and reveal themselves to us in a way we would not feel the need to gasp and run a mile. They inhabit a world that lays entwined within ours, if you stretch out your arm then you are probably just touching upon the cusp of Faeland. The are able to pass through this thin veil with ease but with us humans it is not so easy as they do have enchantments to keep themselves hidden. There are portals where if you are lucky enough you can pass through but this is quite rare as again there is magick surrounding them, the best times to try would be sunrise and sunset. every tree holds the passage through to the other world and places that have a unique strangeness about them, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about when you come across it. We can through meditation and dreams be carried there upon the magick of our thoughts and will and this is far easier to try as you will be in the comfort of your own home, dry, warm and safe.
Faeries come in all shapes and sizes and are attached to nearly everything in nature. For every flower including weeds there is a faery, also for herbs, crystals, colours, seasons, trees etc. They take on the properties or the personalities if you like by fusing both energies together. This is where faery magick comes into play, it allows us to enhance the communication between us & our chosen faery and we can ask that they give guidance to us and also a way forward. I will be showing you more on the faery magick soon. It is easy enough to do and done in love and light.
This is just a tiny part of the fae and their lives, I have so much faery knowledge to share with you all such as the faery magick, how to connect to them & mother earth, celebrating the festivals with them, meditations, faery altars plus useful tips that will serve you well in your encounters such as never accept food or drink from the faeries, you will be trapped in faeland until they decide it is time for you to leave, as tempting as that may seem we have a balanced and grounded life to live upon our own land, I always take my own stash of food, egg sarnies and a flask of tea. A little faery task for you, choose yourself a journal, a book of enchantment, each day write down your thoughts, emotions......you may want to fill the pages with poems or stories and add drawings. Make this your private space where you can connect to the fae for they will be drawn to your inner voice as if it were a beacon of light and within a few days of writing you may start to notice something going on around you, a small dot of light, a giggle from no source, the urge to walk in the woods all of these are the known way of the fae to bring you closer to them and their world, the more you invite them into your heart the more you will see the magick.

And sometimes they appear small with pointed ears, wild hair, slightly protruding face, beautiful eyes, very nimble upon their feet but their appearance might be slightly different to your eye than to someone else for they are not out to frighten us so they tend to soften those features and reveal themselves to us in a way we would not feel the need to gasp and run a mile. They inhabit a world that lays entwined within ours, if you stretch out your arm then you are probably just touching upon the cusp of Faeland. The are able to pass through this thin veil with ease but with us humans it is not so easy as they do have enchantments to keep themselves hidden. There are portals where if you are lucky enough you can pass through but this is quite rare as again there is magick surrounding them, the best times to try would be sunrise and sunset. every tree holds the passage through to the other world and places that have a unique strangeness about them, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about when you come across it. We can through meditation and dreams be carried there upon the magick of our thoughts and will and this is far easier to try as you will be in the comfort of your own home, dry, warm and safe.
Faeries come in all shapes and sizes and are attached to nearly everything in nature. For every flower including weeds there is a faery, also for herbs, crystals, colours, seasons, trees etc. They take on the properties or the personalities if you like by fusing both energies together. This is where faery magick comes into play, it allows us to enhance the communication between us & our chosen faery and we can ask that they give guidance to us and also a way forward. I will be showing you more on the faery magick soon. It is easy enough to do and done in love and light.
This is just a tiny part of the fae and their lives, I have so much faery knowledge to share with you all such as the faery magick, how to connect to them & mother earth, celebrating the festivals with them, meditations, faery altars plus useful tips that will serve you well in your encounters such as never accept food or drink from the faeries, you will be trapped in faeland until they decide it is time for you to leave, as tempting as that may seem we have a balanced and grounded life to live upon our own land, I always take my own stash of food, egg sarnies and a flask of tea. A little faery task for you, choose yourself a journal, a book of enchantment, each day write down your thoughts, emotions......you may want to fill the pages with poems or stories and add drawings. Make this your private space where you can connect to the fae for they will be drawn to your inner voice as if it were a beacon of light and within a few days of writing you may start to notice something going on around you, a small dot of light, a giggle from no source, the urge to walk in the woods all of these are the known way of the fae to bring you closer to them and their world, the more you invite them into your heart the more you will see the magick.
